Microsoft umumkan fitur Cross-Network Play, mungkinkan gamer Xbox melawan pemain di PS4 dan PC dalam judul game yang sama.

Metrotvnews.com: Microsoft mengumumkan fitur baru untuk perangkat gamingnya, Xbox, Cross-Network Play. Fitur ini mampu menyuguhkan pengalaman bermain lebih menyenangkan, dengan melibatkan perangkat gaming dari merek ternama lainnya.

Seperti yang dilansir The Verge, fitur ini memungkinkan gamer Xbox bertanding dengan pemain pada perangkat game lain, yaitu PlayStation 4 dan PC. Pengembang juga dikabarkan tengah mengembangkan game untuk Xbox One dan Windows 10 untuk mendukung fitur ini.

Namun, Microsoft menyebut, untuk dapat berfungsi dengan baik dan menyuguhkan pengalaman gaming menyenangkan, fitur ini membutuhkan partisipasi Sony dan produsen perangkat gaming lainnya.

Rocket League disebut sebagai judul game pertama yang mendukung fitur gaming lintas jaringan ini. Dukungan dari pengembang dan produsen konsol dinilai dapat membantu mengubah masa depan industri game. Kehadiran fitur yang memungkinkan kegiatan gaming multi-pemain di platformberbeda ini disebut akan menghilangkan batasan di bidang gaming konsol.

Selain itu, fitur ini juga disebut dapat menimbulkan diskusi terkait judul yang dapat dimainkan antara gamer PC dan konsol. Sementara itu, mouse dan keyboard yang dinilai memiliki lebih banyak kelebihan pada game FPS dibandingkan dengan gamepad, akan menjadi tantangan baru bagi pengembang game dalam menyeimbangkan fungsi perangkat pendukung untuk fitur ini.
